Impact AC made the trip to Wormwood Scrubs on Saturday for the prestigious SEAA Cross Country Relay Championships — one of the biggest early-season fixtures on the calendar. Against a strong field featuring many of the region’s top clubs, our young athletes showed great determination, teamwork, and promise for the season ahead.

Under 13 Boys

Impact AC fielded two teams in the U13 Boys’ race, and both squads ran with grit and enthusiasm across the fast, flat 2km loop.

The A team of Joshua Taylor, James Weed, and Elijah Vice finished 23rd overall in a solid combined time of 23:34. Joshua got the team off to a flying start with a swift 7:32 opener, before James and Elijah kept the momentum going to bring the trio home strongly.

The B team – Adam Gruet, Kristian Beynon, and Noah Almashoor – showed excellent teamwork and consistency, clocking 25:52 to finish 34th. For many of these boys, it was their first taste of regional relay competition, and they handled the challenge superbly.

Under 13 Girls

Our U13 girls continued the positive trend with a fine 14th-place finish in 24:47. Bailey Burnand set the tone with a steady opening leg (8:17), handing over to Mya Keelaghan Clow-Wilson, who impressed with a superb 7:53 split — one of the quickest legs of the race. Freya Finding anchored the team home strongly to round off an excellent collective performance. The girls’ energy and enthusiasm around the course were a real highlight of the morning.

Under 15 Girls

The U15 girls delivered another consistent and spirited display, finishing 15th overall in 24:51. Florence Dury and Rosie Greenwood both ran well on the early legs, before Poppy Owens stormed through the final 2km in a brilliant 7:43 to move the team up the standings. The trio’s teamwork and encouragement of each other typified the club spirit throughout the day.

Under 15 Boys

Unfortunately, the U15 boys were unable to field a full team on the day, but Milo Inman represented Impact AC superbly on leg one. His strong 7:43 run showed real composure and form, and although the team couldn’t continue, Milo’s effort ensured the club colours were flying proudly in the race.

Across all age groups, the athletes supported each other brilliantly —  warming up together, and celebrating every finish. These relays mark a fantastic start to the winter season, with many personal bests and plenty of experience gained.

Well done to everyone who ran, and thank you to the parents, coaches, and supporters who made the trip.
