National Cross Country Relays - 1st November
Posted on
On Saturday the 1st of November the boys from Impact Athletic Club travelled to Mansfield to take part in the prestigious English National Cross Country Relay Championships organised by the English Cross Country Association. English Cross Country Association
Facing some of the very best young athletes in the country — and doing so in a category where many competitors were over a year older — James, Eli and Josh delivered fantastic performances and did the club proud.
The course was technical, challenging and unforgiving, requiring strong pacing, composure and teamwork across the relay legs. Despite the elevation changes, tricky footing and high-calibre opposition, the trio worked superbly together.
Their final placing of 51st reflects both the strength of the field and the quality of their effort. For Year 7 athletes competing at this level, this was a very strong showing. The three individual runs combined to deliver a result the club can be proud of.
The 3-hour drive to Mansfield was more than justified as the boys represented the club with determination and sporting spirit. A special thanks must go to Mark (Josh’s dad) for stepping up as team manager for the day, handling logistics, encouraging and supporting the boys
Well done James, Eli and Josh!
