Impact Athletic Club enjoyed a sensational afternoon at the U11 Surrey Sportshall Championships, entering a huge squad of 36 athletes — including 12 athletes competing as part of a mixed team with our friends at Young Athletes Club (YAC).

Across four hours of high-energy indoor competition, our athletes produced a confident, assured and dominant display in both track and field disciplines. Their hard work in the three dedicated practice sessions truly paid off: Impact were the slickest team on baton changes, the sharpest on the reverse boards, and the most technically disciplined across the hall.

At the end of a brilliant competition, Impact Athletic Club were crowned Surrey Sportshall Champions.

A Performance Built on Strength in Every Event

Sportshall scoring awards 18 points for 1st place, 16 for 2nd, and so on for each discipline. Impact AC demonstrated quality throughout, racking up high placings in nearly every discipline across both the boys and girls team.

Boys’ Events

Across the Obstacle Relay, 1+1 Lap Relay, Hurdles Relay, Over/Under Relay, Paarlauf, and sprint relays, Impact's teams repeatedly hit the top scores, with many events showing maximum or near-maximum 18 and 16 point scores. No other team got close to us.

In the field events — including Standing Long Jump, Standing Triple Jump, Speed Bounce, Hi-Stepper, Chest Push, Soft Javelin and Target Throw — Impact athletes again showed superb technical ability, regularly achieving the top-three scoring positions.

Girls’ Events

The Girls results showed an equally dominant set of performances across both track and field events matching the boys for quality — executing smooth baton changes, controlled pacing in the relays, great speed over the hurdles, and excellent all-round field results. In events such as the Standing Triple Jump, Speed Bounce and Chest Push, Impact athletes notched some of the strongest distances and counts of the entire competition.

The consistency across the squad was remarkable: wherever you looked in the results, Impact athletes were scoring highly.

Outstanding Support from the YAC/Impact Mixed Team

A special mention must alos go to the mixed YAC/Impact team, who also featured highly throughout both results sheets. These athletes made a huge contribution to the event and displayed brilliant team spirit.

The mixed teams achieved a variety of strong places, including several high-scoring relay and field performances. The boys finished 5th overall and the girls 4th - a fantastic achievement.

Champions of Surrey – A Fantastic Team Effort

Impact’s final combined score placed them comfortably top of the table for both boys and girls, earning them the title of Surrey Sportshall Champions 2025.

But perhaps the most satisfying part of the afternoon was the spirit on display —

  • Athletes cheering for their teammates

  • Supporting the mixed-team brilliantly

  • Showing composure, confidence and maturity throughout all events

  • Competing with smiles, effort and pride

This was a complete squad performance, and every athlete played a part in the club’s victory.

A Brilliant Start to the Indoor Season

The competition was everything sport should be: loud, exciting, fast-paced and full of brilliant young athletes giving their all. For many of our U11s, this was their first taste of Sportshall — and they handled it exceptionally well.

Well done to all 36 athletes — champions together!
